Volunteer

If you are a current volunteer, thank you for donating your time and talent. Volunteers play an integral part in the successful operation of this shelter, and it is because of you that many animals get to enjoy a better life.

Volunteers
Holly and Phyllis – Feline Counselors – have won our SPCA Tampa Bay's December cat adoption challenge. Overall the volunteers and staff adopted out 244 cats and kittens in December 2011, surpassing the December 2010 number by 47.

If you are not currently a volunteer but are interested in becoming one please visit the SPCA Tampa Bay Volunteers website to learn about the volunteers, the shelter, and the many rewarding opportunities available to you.

Who can volunteer? The minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old. We need volunteers who can work hands-on with the animals, help us with administrative tasks or participate in our community outreach events.

What reasons do people give for volunteering? People volunteer for many reasons. Some like to work hands-on with the animals to give homeless and abused animals the 'TLC' and daily care they need until new owners can be found. Others lend their expertise to assist the admin staff in getting behind-the-scenes things done.

Where do I go for Volunteer Orientation? Go to the Humane Education and Training Center. It is the first building on your right as you enter the SPCA property. Where do I log my Volunteer Hours? When volunteering at the SPCA Tampa Bay, the Volunteer Login is located in the hallway of the volunteer office. If completing hours from home, you can log in by clicking on the link to the right. Where can I drop off Donations? Follow the red Donation signs and they will take you to the back entrance for donation drop-off.
